Idioms" အခ်ိဳ ့ ကိုတင္ေပးလိုက္ပါတယ္။"English Idioms" ေတြကို ကမၻာက လက္ခံ အသံုးျပဳ ေနတဲ့ အတြက္
ေလ့လာထားဖို ့ လိုအပ္ပါတယ္။ဒါေၾကာင့္ "English Idioms" အခ်ိဳ့ကို ေလ့လာနုိင္ေစဖို ့တင္ျပလိုက္ရပါတယ္။

English Idioms
        
  *  an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth  -     a biblical theme indicating that punishment should equal the
                                                                           offense.
  *   ဘဲစား ဘဲေက်။ သူတစ္ျပန္ ကိုယ္တစ္ျပန္။ ဘတစ္ျပန္ က်ားတစ္ျပန္။
    For example,      Mg Mg kicked me in the leg. So, I kicked him in the leg.After all, an eye for an eye,   a    
                              tooth for a tooth.

  
 * at the eleventh hour -    at the last possible moment.
 * ေနာက္ဆံုးထြက္သက္ထိ၊ ေနာက္ဆံုး အခ်ိန္ထိ  ၊ ေနာက္ဆံုးအခါသမယ။
   For example;     He loved her at the eleventh hour.


 * arm in arm -    of persons linked or hooked together by the arms.
 *  လက္ခ်င္းတြဲလ်က္၊ လက္ခ်င္းခ်ိတ္လ်က္၊ လက္တြဲမျဖဳတ္ဘဲ၊ နွစ္ကိုယ္တူလက္တြဲလို ့။
   For example;     The two lovers walked arm in arm down the street.




 * The sooner the better -    ျမန္နုိင္သမွ် ျမန္ျမန္ ။ ျမန္ေလ ေကာင္းေလပဲ။
   For example;   (Q) When shall I tell him?  (Ans:) The sooner the better.


 * one in a million -    အင္မတန္ထူးျခားေကာင္းမြန္တဲ့သူ ၊ ရွားရွား ပါးပါး ေတြ ့ရခဲသူ ကို "one in a million"လို့
                                   သံုးတာေတြ ့ရပါတယ္။
   For example;   He thinks his wife is a woman in a million.You are one in a million.



 * as different as night and day -   completely different.
 *  လံုး၀ ကြာျခားတယ္။ မတူပါ. လံုး၀ကြဲျပား ျခားနားတယ္။
  For example;    Birds and bats appears to be similar, but the are different as night and day.



  * have a heart of gold -     to be generous, sincere and friendly. to have a wonderful character and  
                                             personality.
 * ထူးျခားတဲ့ စိတ္ေနသေဘာထားရွိသည္. ထူးျခားတဲ့ ကိုယ္ရည္ ကိုယ္ေသြး ရွိသည္။ရက္ေရာသည္။သေဘာ
    ေကာင္းသည္။ေဖာ္ေရြသည္။ခင္မင္သည္။
   For example;    Mary is such a lovely person. She has a heart of gold.


 * in less than no time -     very quickly. very rapidly.
 * အရမ္းျမန္ျမန္ ၊ အျမန္ဆံုး ၊ အေစာဆံုး ၊ ခ်က္ခ်င္း ၊ ျမန္လိုက္တာ ။
   For example;    Don't worry. This won't take long. It'll be over with in less than no time.


 * love at first sight -   love established when two people first see one another.
 * ျမင္ျမင္ခ်င္း ခ်စ္မိသည္။
   For example;   Bill was standing at the door when Ann opened it.It was love at first sight when they met.


 * on the other hand -   looking at the other side of the question.
 * ဆိုရင္ ။ ဒါေပမယ့္။ သို့ေသာ္လည္း ။
  For example;  He is extremely intelligent; on the other hand, he's a very lazy student.


 * rain or shine -    no matter whether it rain or the sun shines.
 * ေနပူပူ မိုးရြာရြာ ကိစၥမရွိပါဘူး။ တုန္းတိုက္တုိက္ က်ားကုိက္ကုိက္ ။ ဘယ္လိုျဖစ္ျဖစ္လုပ္မယ္။စီစဥ္မယ္။
  For example;   Don't worry. I'll be there rain or shine.


 * under the weather -  ill, sick, not feeling well physically.
 * မအီမသာျဖစ္ေနေသာ ။ ေနရထိုင္ရတာတစ္မ်ိဳးၾကီးျဖစ္ေနေသာ ။ ေနမေကာင္းျဖစ္ခ်င္သလိုပဲ။ဖ်ားခ်င္သ
    လိုလိုျဖစ္ေနေသာ ။ ေနရထိုင္ရတာမေကာင္းဘူး ။ ဘယ္လိုၾကီးျဖစ္ေနမွန္း မသိဘူး။
   For example;    My head is aching, and I feel a little under the weather.


 * walk on air -    to be very happy; to be euphoric.
 *  အရမ္းေပ်ာ္ေနသည္ ။ အရမ္းသြက္လတ္ေပါ့ပါး ေပ်ာ္ရႊင္ေနသည္ ။ ပီတိျဖစ္ေနသည္ ။ တက္ၾကြေနသည္။
    ၾကည္နူးေနသည္။
    For example;    On the last day of school all the children are walking on air.


 * go to town -    to work hard or fast.
 *  အလုပ္ၾကိဳးစားသည္ ။ ျမန္ျမန္ ဆန္ဆန္ လုပ္သည္ ။
   For example;     Let's go to town.We have to finish this job before noon.


 * Apple of someone's eye -   someone's favorite person or thing; a boy friend or a girl friend; a person or
                                                 a thing that someone wants.
 *  အသဲေလး ၊ ရည္းစား ၊ အခ်စ္ဆံုးသူ ။ အေရးေပးခံရသူ။
     For example;   she is the apple of my eye.


 *  know something inside out -    to know something thoroughly; to know about something thoroughly.
 *  နံွ ့နွံ ့ စပ္စပ္ ေသေသခ်ာခ်ာ သိသည္။ ေစ့ေစ့ စပ္စပ္ သိရွိနားလည္သည္။ လံုး၀အေသးစိတ္သိသည္။
    For example;  I know my geometry inside out.


 * so far -     until now 
 * ယခုထိ ။ ယခုတုိင္။
    For example;     I have been on diet for two weeks, but so far I haven't lost any weight.
